What Helps Sell it...
On eBay, bidders are looking for items in great condition. We do accept some items with minor flaws, but even a pin-point spot on a piece may lower a selling price considerably. (We note every little thing in our descriptions!)
Items branded with the maker’s name & hallmark sell much better than those whose makers are not identified. There are collectors of certain “names”. However, some items, such as antique milk glass pieces, may not have a maker’s mark, but may still be collectible.
Consumer electronics items such as phones & PDAs will sell if the technology is still current and the item is in good working condition. Any licenses used for these items must be transferable.
Buyers often like to know the history of items they’re bidding on. The more information you provide about your item’s history, the better exposure it should receive.
Certification of authenticity of autographs and other collectibles, when available, aids in saleability.
