Once upon a time...

...a friend asked me to set up and manage his eBay auctions. That was in the spring of '99 I had little idea what I was getting into back then, but what a great move for me that was! Since then, I acted as an eBay Trading Assistant for a few years, selling other peoples' items on eBay. I sold off some of the collectibles gathering dust around my home as well as a few nifty yard-sale finds. I taught classes at our local community college, teaching others how to "do it eBay". I've traveled to five states to join my fellow eBayers at eBay Live. These days I spend most of my time designing eBay pages and teaching the use of Blackthorne Pro to my fellow sellers, as well as advising them how to improve their eBay sales as an eBay Education Specialist.

The eBay community introduced me to a community of others who also became solo-preneurs, many of whom became good friends. eBay offered me an opportunity to visit San Jose on three occasions, once for eBay's 10th anniversary celebration and a couple times to discuss eBay matters with employees. eBay allowed me to develop a niche for designing and training my fellow sellers.

Some have called me an eBay cheerleader, and it's true to a large degree. Sure, I haven't been happy with every policy, procedure or circumstance they've instituted. But there's nothing else quite like eBay that matches my personality and skills quite so nicely, so I plan on being an eBay seller & community member for years and years to come!

Imagine my surprise one morning in February, 2010, when a friend emailed me to tell me I was in Meg Whitman's California Gubernatorial campaign ad! (Meg is the former CEO of eBay.) At the 42 second mark, there I am at eBay Live 2005 in San Jose with Meg...whoda thunk it?
